Château de Tastes to Sainte-croix-du-mont
The Château de Tastes, or Château de Sainte-Croix, was built in the 14th century and rebuilt towards the end of the following century. Only one wall, pierced by a three-lobed opening, has survived from this period. Remains of geminated bays and fireplaces attest to the existence, in the Middle Ages, of the main building leaning against the curtain walls on the north-west side. On the facade overlooking the plateau, the quadrangular-shaped enclosure, flanked by round towers and protected by moats, retains elements of medieval architecture. Extensive restoration work was carried out in the 19th century, particularly on the facade overlooking the river. The Town Hall moved into this superb building in the 1970s.
