Ville de Langon to Langon
Since the 12th century, the town has united two villages named after their churches: Notre-Dame and St Gervais.
The first church was altered many times, and eight of its ancient capitals are now on display at the Cloister Museum in New York. It houses a painting by the famous Spanish painter Zurbarán.
Langon has a wide range of administrative, cultural and sporting facilities. Its famous pedestrian street was renovated in 2017. The banks of the Garonne have also been redeveloped and regularly see sections of the gigantic A380 pass by. From Langon via the cycle route, the Canal des Deux Mers at Castets-et-Castillon is within easy reach and a potential starting point for a lovely ride.
