Domaine de Malagar to Saint-maixant
Languages spoken
At Malagar, in the footsteps of François Mauriac, there’s something for everyone: for nature lovers, the superb panoramic views over the Garonne valley; for literary enthusiasts, a visit to the estate steeped in the words of the Nobel Prize winner; for history buffs, the chance to discover the career of a writer committed to his century. As part of the heritage of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the estate is listed as a Historic Monument, has been awarded the Maisons des Illustres label, and its 4-hectare park is also listed.
After undergoing a major restoration project, Malagar is now equipped with digital tools to enhance the guided tour of the Maison, the exhibition at the Chai du Rouge and the creation of an Escape Game, complete with headset and joystick. Literary walks, activities for children, seminars and cultural events make Malagar a living heritage site that’s not to be missed.
