La Forêt d’Art Contemporain : “Le Pavillon”, work n°17 to Captieux
Le Pavillon, Didier Marcel. A65 – Captieux, 2017. Programming: Didier Arnaudet.
This work, set between the forest and the motorway, combines the vision of the motorist and the walker. It combines three massive shafts surmounted by a Canadian tent, the scale of which has been reduced to accentuate the height of the “perch”. The various elements in polyester resin are moulded with extreme precision to enhance the ornamental finesse of the bark and drapery. The rudimentary stacking asserts the ‘lumberjack’ look of the building. The sculpture emerges unexpectedly in the landscape, like a signal that resonates with the tree and the habitat. It’s a breath of fresh air where nature and the built environment rediscover their original harmony. Its fictitious occupants remind us of the discreet presence of birds. This perch is an invitation to an exceptional experience.
