Pétrusse SAS – Château Mauriac to Langon
Languages spoken
This large bourgeois building with two pavilions and a slate roof is called “Château Mauriac” because it was built in 1865 by François Mauriac’s grandfather. The house was the inspiration for the writer’s gloomy “Maison de Génitrix”, which trembles when trains pass by.
Today, the house is home to the Maison Pétrusse clothing workshops. It all began in 1996 with a trip to India. Inspired by the beauty of the cashmere patterns, now part of a private collection, and the nobility of the weaving traditions, the first Pétrusse stoles were born.
In partnership with the Tourist Office, Maison Pétrusse is opening the doors of its workshops to you. In 2023, every Thursday in July, visit at 10.30am.
