Village de Verdelais to Verdelais
The commune of Verdelais has been renowned since the 12th century for its pilgrimages on the Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago de Compostela, as well as for its cultural heritage. Its basilica on the pretty square lined with plane trees, the tomb of the famous painter Toulouse-Lautrec, who died in 1901 in the nearby Château de Malromé, the Calvary and the Moulin de Cussol, still in working order, to name but a few. Wine-growing is also a major tourist attraction, and the quality of the town’s infrastructure means that it welcomes many visitors.
