Etape 1 Muni du descriptif de la randonnée que vous trouverez dans les offices de tourisme de Sauternes, Langon, Saint-Macaire et Hostens, vous pouvez débuter la randonnée !
Etape 2 From the main square in Sauternes (Place de la Mairie), head towards Budos. After a 700-metre stroll, you'll see two châteaux on your right, both classified as Second Cru Classé de Sauternes in 1855.

Firstly, Château Lamothe-Guignard, located on one of the highest points in the commune of Sauternes. It overlooks the Ciron valley and offers a panoramic view of the entire Sauternes region

A few metres further on is Château Lamothe Despujols, both a Sauternes Grand Cru Classé and a family estate.
Etape 3 After passing through the commune of Bommes, turn right at the crossroads at the 5th kilometre, and you will pass some famous estates.

The first is Château Rabaud-Promis. It was built by the great architect Victor Louis, who is also known for his work on Bordeaux's Grand Théâtre.
The second property is also on your left.
The second, also on your left, is Château Sigalas-Rabaud. It's the smallest of the Premier Crus, with just 14 hectares of vines!
The third is the famous Château Lafaury.
The third is the famous Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, home to a hotel (*****), a Michelin-starred restaurant and a barrel of Lalique crystal.
Etape 4 En poursuivant sur cette route, vous apercevrez sur votre droite le Château de Rayne Vigneau. Le château et son parc ont été inscrits au titre des Monuments Historiques. Il fut construit par Louis-Michel Garros pour M. Pontac à la fin du 19ème siècle.
Etape 5 Château d'Arche rises up in front of you on the 8th km. Situated on the heights of Sauternes, this large 17th-century building houses a hotel and reception areas. The château's modern winery and shop are on the opposite side of the road.
Turn left to reach the famous Château d'Yquem. Situated on the highest hill in Sauternes, the estate covers 148 hectares and the château was listed as a Historic Monument in 2003.
Etape 6 On the way back down to Sauternes, you'll pass Château Guiraud, the only Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855 to be certified as an organic winegrower.

At the end of the road, at the crossroads, turn right towards the Place Principale. You've just completed this beautiful walk through the heart of the vineyards.
