Château d’Eyran to Saint-medard-d'eyrans
Length of visit : 90 minutesLanguages spoken
The first traces of Château d’Eyran date back to 1317. Rebuilt on the gravelly slopes of Mont d’Eyran, in 1796 it passed into the hands of the de Seze family, who still own it today. The interplay of indivisions, the economic crisis and the German occupation forced the family to uproot the vines at the beginning of the 20th century. Since 1980, the vineyard has been restored by Stéphane and Brigitte Savigneux, who were joined in 2015 by their son Charles. As part of a carefully considered approach to environmental quality, the 25-hectare vineyard is run with one aim in mind: respect for the terroir in which its red and white wines are rooted. The estate has been awarded level 3 High Environmental Value certification. Built in 2017, its resolutely modern winery, made from traditional materials, subtly combines functionality and aesthetics, providing Château d’Eyran wines with an exceptional setting.
