A large family estate of 350 hectares (including 62 hectares of vines) covering the entire southern slope of the village of Sauternes, with English-style parkland, a 19th-century neoclassical château and a 16th-century dovecote.
Château Filhot was founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot, an adviser to the Bordeaux Parliament, and passed down to its current owner, Count Gabriel de Vaucelles. Famous for its Sauternes, Filhot is also known for its English-style park created by landscape gardener Fisher in 1845. Château Filhot has been awarded level 3 HVE (High Environmental Value) certification.
