Château Le Tuquet, Domaines de la Parrhesia to Beautiran
Length of visit : 30 minutesLanguages spoken
The history of the Tuquet vineyard dates back to Roman times, but its Charterhouse was built in the 18th century. The southern façade and the view from the gateway to the lake, passing through the centre of the house, are attributed to Victor Louis, architect of the great theatre of Bordeaux.
The Moitessier family lived in the house on several occasions, and Charles de Foucauld stayed with his aunt on several occasions.
In 2021, after a long expatriation to Canada, Delphine and Guillaume Journel decided to change their lives and fulfil their dream of making wine. They fell under the spell of this property and its neighbour, Château Couloumey, and set about bringing together these two estates that history had separated for more than 3 centuries.
The exceptional terroir of Le Tuquet produces wines that are elegant, fruity and woody at the same time.
